Conetpass in Budapest is powered by Revolut and operates through an open-loop contactless payment system.

Set up your pass, add it to your digital wallet (Apple Pay or Google Pay), and simply tap&go at metro station gates or on the 100E Airport Bus. For buses and trams, collect a single-journey ticket from the ticket machines.

Conetpass in Budapest is available for 1, 2, 3 or 4 days and provides:

Each pass is valid for the selected number of calendar days.

Children from 0 to 5 years old can travel free of charge on Budapest public transport. From the age of 6, a valid ticket or pass is required.

If a service is not listed under “What’s Included” in your booking confirmation, you should assume it is not covered by the pass.

Your Conetpass will be a 100% digital pass powered by Revolut, sent by email after purchase. Please follow the instructions you will receive by email for activation.  A valid Google Wallet or Apple Wallet and ID is required.

• The 1-day transport credit is valid until midnight on the day of the first Tap (for example: if first used on Monday at 5:00 p.m., it remains valid until Monday at midnight).
• The 2-day transport credit is valid until midnight on the second calendar day, including the day of the first Tap (for example: if first used on Monday at 5:00 p.m., it remains valid until Tuesday at midnight).
• The 3-day transport credit is valid until midnight on the third calendar day, including the day of the first Tap (for example: if first used on Monday at 5:00 p.m., it remains valid until Wednesday at midnight).
• The 4-day transport credit is valid until midnight on the fourth calendar day, including the day of the first Tap (for example: if first used on Monday at 5:00 p.m., it remains valid until Thursday at midnight).

Intermediate Stops: Népliget • Astoria • Déli Railway Station • Nyugati Railway Station (on selected services)
Journey Time: Approx. 30–85 minutes, depending on traffic and selected stop. Buses operate approximately every 30 minutes.

Key stations:

Deák Ferenc tér: Budapest’s main transport hub, where Metro lines M1, M2, and M3 intersect. Located in the heart of the city, it provides easy access to the main shopping streets, St. Stephen’s Basilica, and many of Budapest’s top attractions.

Keleti Railway Station: One of Budapest’s largest railway stations and an important transport hub, served by Metro lines M2 and M4. It offers national and international rail connections, making it a key gateway for travellers arriving in or leaving the city.

Kálvin tér: A major interchange between Metro lines M3 and M4, located close to the Great Market Hall, the Hungarian National Museum, and the lively restaurant and café district.

At this time, ConetPass does not offer promotional discounts for children, groups, or families. All customers pay the same price.

However, young children can travel free on Istanbul public transport under certain age conditions (see next FAQ).

Children aged 6 and under can travel free of charge on Budapest public transport.

Budapest’s metro network consists of four lines that connect the city’s most important districts, major transport hubs, railway stations, and popular attractions. Together with the tram and bus network, it provides a fast and convenient way to travel across both Buda and Pest.

Metro operating hours:

Monday–Sunday: approximately 4:30 AM to 11:30 PM

Main metro lines:

M1 Line: Also known as the Millennium Underground, the oldest metro line in continental Europe. It connects Deák Ferenc tér with Heroes’ Square and City Park, serving popular attractions along Andrássy Avenue.

M2 Line: An important east–west route connecting Déli Railway Station in Buda with Keleti Railway Station in Pest via Deák Ferenc tér, Astoria, and Kossuth Lajos tér.

M3 Line: The city’s busiest north–south metro line, linking Újpest-központ with Kőbánya-Kispest through the city centre. It provides convenient access to Nyugati Railway Station and connects with the airport bus at Kőbánya-Kispest.

M4 Line: Connects Kelenföld Railway Station with Keleti Railway Station, crossing the Danube and serving important central stops including Szent Gellért tér, Fővám tér, Kálvin tér, and Rákóczi tér.

Service frequency:

• Peak hours (approximately 7:00–9:00 AM / 4:00–6:00 PM): every 2–5 minutes
• Midday: every 4–6 minutes
• Evening: every 5–10 minutes
• Early morning and late evening: reduced frequency

Trams:

• Operate daily from approximately 4:30 AM to 11:30 PM
• Frequent service throughout the day (every 3–8 minutes on the busiest lines)
• Serve the city centre, the Danube riverfront, and many of Budapest’s most popular attractions

The tram network is particularly useful for visitors, with lines such as Tram 2 connecting landmarks including the Hungarian Parliament, Chain Bridge, Vigadó Square, and the Central Market Hall while offering panoramic views of the Danube.

Buses:

• Operate daily from early morning (around 4:30 AM) until late evening
• Extensive network covering both Buda and Pest
• Connect residential neighbourhoods, major attractions, railway stations, and transport hubs
• Night buses operate on selected routes after metro services end, ensuring connections across the city throughout the night
