Vaporettos (waterbuses) connect the main island, the lagoon islands and the mainland areas of Mestre and Marghera. What is covered by the Venice Conet Pass
The Venice Conet Pass gives unlimited access to all ACTV services across Venice, Mestre and Marghera. This includes:
- Vaporetto: all waterbus lines operating across the Venice historic center, the Grand Canal, and the lagoon islands including Murano and Burano. The vaporetto is the main mode of public transport on the island: it connects every sestiere, the train station at Ferrovia, Piazzale Roma, San Marco, the Rialto area, and the Accademia.
- Buses: the full ACTV mainland bus network connecting Mestre, Marghera and the Venice causeway (Ponte della Libertà) to Piazzale Roma. Key route: Bus No. 2 from Piazzale Cialdini in Mestre to Piazzale Roma, with a journey time of approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
- Tram: line T1, operated by ACTV, connecting Mestre Centro to Piazzale Roma. Journey time approximately 20 minutes. The same pass valid on vaporetto and bus is valid on tram.
- Airport shuttle: every day pass includes a one-way journey to or from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) via ATVO Airport Express. You choose the direction when you use it.
- Taxi credit: €5 Wetaxi credit included with every pass.
Not included: private water taxis, gondolas, the Alilaguna airport boat service, Trenitalia and Italo trains. Always check your booking confirmation for the exact inclusions. Children aged 5 and under travel free on all ACTV services when accompanied by a paying adult.
Pass durations available for Venice
Conet Pass for Venice is available in the following options:
- One-way ticket: valid for 75 minutes from the moment of first validation. Sufficient for a single journey within the city, but not for a return trip or visits to Burano.
- 1-day pass: valid for 24 hours from first activation. If you activate it on Friday at 11:00 am, it expires on Saturday at 11:00 am.
- 2-day pass: valid for 48 hours from first activation. If activated Monday at 5:00 pm, it remains valid until Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
- 3-day pass: valid for 72 hours from first activation. If activated Monday at 5:00 pm, it remains valid until Thursday at 5:00 pm.
- 7-day pass: valid for 7 consecutive calendar days from first activation.
Validity runs continuously, including overnight. There is no cut-off at midnight, the pass stays active for the full counted hours from the moment you first board. One practical note: the 75-minute one-way ticket is not sufficient to reach Burano and return. A day pass is required for island excursions.
When does the validity start
The Venice Conet Pass is valid from first use, not from the date of purchase. However, you must enter your correct arrival date at the time of purchase, as tickets can only be downloaded from that date onwards. If you need to change your travel date, you can do so at any time from the login area. Make sure the date you enter matches the day you plan to start travelling in Venice.
The date you select when confirming your order is indicative — it marks when you plan to travel but does not activate the pass. The clock starts running the first time you board any ACTV service.
How to activate the Venice Conet Pass
Your Conet Pass for Venice is 100% digital and sent by email after purchase. Activation instructions are included in your confirmation email — follow them carefully, as the exact process depends on the ticket type received. To collect your physical ACTV ticket before boarding, you have two options:
- ACTV automatic ticket machines: available at all main vaporetto stops and in metro stations on the mainland. Enter your PNR personal booking code at the machine to collect your ticket.
- Venezia Unica ticket points: present your PNR to a member of staff to collect your travelcard for use on ACTV waterbuses. A map of Venezia Unica collection points is available at veneziaunica.it.
If you experience any difficulty with the automatic machines, ACTV staff at any sales and collection point can assist.
The vaporetto network: key lines and stops for visitors
The vaporetto network runs from approximately 5:00 am to midnight daily, with selected night lines operating after midnight. Main lines run every 10 to 20 minutes during daytime hours. The stops most useful for visitors are:
- Piazzale Roma: the main land-side transport hub, where buses, trams and the airport shuttle arrive. Starting point for Lines 1, 2 and 3.
- Ferrovia: Venice Santa Lucia train station. Served by Lines 1 and 2.
- Rialto: the Rialto Bridge and market area. Served by Lines 1 and 2.
- San Marco Vallaresso and San Zaccaria: St Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace and the waterfront. Served by Lines 1 and 2.
- Accademia: the Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Accademia Bridge. Served by Line 1.
Fondamente Nove — the main departure point for the lagoon islands. Lines 3 and 4.1/4.2 serve Murano; Line 12 serves Burano. - For Murano, Line 3 from Piazzale Roma takes approximately 20 minutes. For Burano, Line 12 from Fondamente Nove takes approximately 40 to 45 minutes. Both are covered by any day pass.

The airport shuttle: included, fixed date, one direction
Every Venice Conet Pass day pass includes a one-way journey to or from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) via ATVO Airport Express. The shuttle ticket is separate from the urban transport pass and is valid on the date selected at the time of purchase. Unlike other cities, the Venice airport shuttle ticket is not open-date — it must be used on the date indicated in your booking.
You decide the direction when you use it: from the airport into the city on arrival, or from the city to the airport on departure.
- Departure points at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE): bus stops are located at Exit D, second lane – stop No. 3 for Venice and stop No. 4 for Mestre.
- City stops: Piazzale Roma (main Venice terminal) and Venezia Mestre FS (Mestre railway station).
- Schedule: services operate daily from approximately 6:00 am to 1:10 am from the airport, and from approximately 4:20 am to 12:40 am from Venice and Mestre. Frequency is approximately every 30 minutes. Journey time is approximately 20 minutes between the airport and Piazzale Roma or Mestre.
Standalone shuttle tickets for Venice Marco Polo Airport (one-way and round trip) and for Treviso Canova Airport (one-way and round trip) are not included in the pass but can be purchased separately via the link in your confirmation email.
What to do if you have not received your confirmation email
Check your spam or junk folder first. If the email is not there, you can recover your booking at Ticket Recovery using the email address and name provided at purchase. The same tool lets you change your selected travel date or download tickets directly.

Yes. All vaporetto lines to Murano and Burano are operated by ACTV and are included in all day passes. The one-way 75-minute ticket is not sufficient for a round trip to Burano, a day pass is required.
